My Movie Roblox Guide

My Movie updates

Quick answer

Updates land regularly through Roblox. This page tracks the headline changes since launch — new editor features, sound system changes and content updates — with dates from the official update log.

How updates work here

My Movie updates through Roblox rolls, and the developers describe each change in plain language on the official Discord's changelog channel — a level of developer communication that is rare for a game this size. This page summarizes the updates that affect how you make movies, newest first, so you can tell whether a guide screenshot is older than a patch.

Recent updates

September 6, 2026 — bulk buying and new pose packs. Backgrounds, actor poses and music can now be bulk purchased the same way stickers already could. Two new pose packs landed: "General 3" (jump, climb, kneel, crouch, sneak, think, nod, shake head, whisper, swim) and "Dance Trends," built from the most-requested viral dances from the in-game suggestions feature.

September 3–5, 2026 — mobile and search fixes. Scrolling the social feed on mobile no longer misfires into accidental clicks, and stickers/backgrounds now appear correctly in the image search on fresh servers.

August 30, 2026 — the Share button. Movies can now be shared as links: clicking a shared link opens My Movie directly on that movie. If you promote your work outside the game, this is the link to use.

August 22, 2026 — the comments update. Three changes to how comments work: super comments (pay to pin your comment to the top — the creator receives tickets, and so do you), pinned comments (creators can pin any comment from anyone), and comment editing (fix your typos instead of deleting and reposting).

May 2026 — Find Popular Music. After a two-week A/B test in early May, the music search that pulls tracks from Roblox's public audio library released to everyone on May 22. This is now the fastest way to get current music into a movie — see the music guide.

What the developers say is coming

The September 6 changelog includes an unusually honest roadmap note: editor work is partly paused for a heavy code rewrite, because every editor feature currently has to be built separately for solo editing, multiplayer editing, undo and redo. Two features this unlocks:

  • Copy-and-paste — described in the changelog as "absurdly complicated to add today," and straightforward once the rewrite lands.
  • Multi-selection — likely after copy/paste.
  • Plus multiple drafts, profile customization for the social side, and one unannounced feature that "has a good chance" of shipping this year or early next.

Treat all of that as plans, not promises — the changelog itself calls the last one fuzzy.

Why this matters for the guides

When the editor rewrite ships, some editor guide screenshots will be a version behind. The guide pages are re-checked when that happens; dates at the top of each page tell you how current its screen descriptions are.
